I held this philosophy of life when I joined SQ. I said to myself - TopicsExpress

I held this philosophy of life when I joined SQ. I said to myself if my number is up, its up no regret that is the price Ive to pay to accept a job of this nature. Since Flight Aviation captured the top news around the world since 28.12.2014 allow me the privilege to share a true story during my stint with SQ. When I joined SQ, Alex Chee was already my station manager based in Dubai 1978 and Cyril Teo Hock Kee was my SQ Cabin Crew Admin Manager. Unknown to me they both were from SJI & 2104 Pelandok Scout. [Sat] 26.05.1979 Flight schedule was HKG-HNL on Mcdonnell Douglas DC10 300 series engines. Unscheduled layover at Guam due to emergency landing instructed by air traffic controllers around the world to ground all DC10 aircrafts for immediate check on any faulty pylon due to Mcdonnell Douglas DC10-10 accident at OHara Airport Chicago Friday 25.05.1979 Ive to salute our own local pilots for saving our lives. Their skills to co-ordinate with [ground army personnel using a long military signaler instrument] via an army jeep signaler to guide the plane down safely at Guam Airport became history. Good things we kept everything as calm as possible.
