I highly recommend everyone with an interest in the F-35 JSF program watch this. An excellent documentary about the X-plane competition between Martin-Lockheed and Boeing. The challenges are clear even in the competition stage. Very informative, very impressive but the potential cost problem is obvious from the get go. A great deal of respect for both the design solutions presented. I think we need to allow three competitors and no winner take all.
