I honestly do not know where to begin with this post. So, my sweet, sweet friend Camila Brown stopped by the Thrift Store today to see me and give me this. She has plugged Foot Palace one time on FB and had a huge following of people head on over there in the last few days for this awesome deal of $30 for a 70 min massage (feet and totally body/with clothes on) so Foot Palace wanted to thank her and gave her this certificate to give to someone she loves. I was honored to accept as my feet do hurt and I totally could use 70 min of relaxation just for me. BUT, what happened next will bring you to tears. She showed me a photo on her phone of a family camped out in the Target, Rowlett parking lot. A husband, wife and small child. She had seen them a few times just sitting there, by their car, so she was compelled to stop and ask if they need help (it is her inbred Brazilian way to help those in need). Turns out this family is from Romania. The father lost his job and they are now living out of their car (Camila verified that indeed their car is lived in). The car is broke down and was told it would be $200 to fix. They stand with a sign asking for help. The little girl, maybe a year or so old, has no shoes. She was wearing her mothers sandals in the photo. I took Camila straight back to Chris Kizziar, our Life Message founder. We allowed Camila to find a pair of shoes for the little girl while we put a box of non-perishable, easy to prep and eat food, along with a case of water to take to them. She took these items to them and they broke down in tears. The mother and child began to dig in the box. It is the littlest of things that many of us take for granted, but the biggest of things that mean so much to a family such as this in need. We also provided her with information to help get them immediate assistance with housing, as well as our card so that when they are able to get transportation, they can come to Life Message, Inc. for the help they need until the husband is able to find work again. Because of stories just like this, everyday, I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing outreach program. Like Camila, Pay It Forward and help take care of Gods people. Thank you, Camila, for your loving and giving heart.
