I honestly don’t think that President Koroma was the one that sanctioned the latest press release from State House. There is the saying that the ‘buck stops at the table of the President’ but it is also an open secret that certain people around the President are desperate to see his downfall. My information is that President Koroma was aware about the civil society issue, but his instruction was not to issue out a confrontational press statement like that. President Koroma is definitely not a dictator and the world knows that. But the President is being wickedly portrayed as a dictator by people he employed at State House to support him administratively. This is betrayal at its peak and those State House workers should be ashamed of themselves for betraying a man that genuinely raised them to the heights they currently maintain. Even if the President is lenient enough not to sack them for such betrayal, they should just do the honorable thing by tendering their resignations. To call things by their names, certain senior officials at the communications unit of State House should just resign now because the President has lost confidence in them. And as for those government ministers like Alpha Kanu who are attempting to defend the defenseless State House Press Release, they are only identifying themselves as members of the team that is desperate for the downfall of our beloved President. President Koroma must watch his back. This is definitely a big shame for the President and Government.
