I honestly have never met anyone who I truly thought was more - TopicsExpress

I honestly have never met anyone who I truly thought was more intelligent than I (this assertion of course begs the question, what is intelligence?). I welcome the chance to do so, but I doubt itll ever happen. Early childhood IQ tests dont lie, really. Like Isaac said, Im the same, as I was when I was six year old. oh my god, I feel so damn old. etc, heh. Except the doctrine of neuroplasticity suggests we change quite a bit, perhaps (probably? definitely?) even in ways which would register on IQ-test performance at different age levels .... Anyway. Given a sample size of 7.1+ billion, find me someone who is legitimately smarter than I, and I will make an effort to make a pilgrimage. Otherwise Ill just be content with barely-better-than-baseline nihilistic narcissism as I have been for a long time (except minus the contentment aspect of it). Ive seen that manic-depressiveness is far more common in Caucasian populations than Asian population , despite the fact that China/S Korea/Japan skew collectively high on intelligence tests. Makes intuitive sense to me. Those nations seem so pragmatic; atheists who dont bother to consider the implications of atheism. Obvious oversimplification, but Id like to better understand the mindset there, a mindset which I perhaps wrongly assume is more generalizable than it is among intelligent and more emotionally varied people in W/N/C/E/S Europe/N/S America/Oceania. If nothing else, just a random drunk musing about cultural differences in conceptions of intelligence, and that I would like to take that and run with it....
