I honor anyone who has spent hundreds of hours in study of Gods Word. While I appreciate John MacArthurs honor & respect for the WRITTEN Word of God, I think the man has gone way overboard characterizing the Charismatic Movement as devilish. His comments are so UNfair. I am a WORD MAN myself and insist on people learning the Word and letting it be the authority and not their experience. There are MILLIONS in my Full Gospel ranks who are brave souls who study scripture as much or more than MacArthur has. Dare him clump us all in some ignorant, backwoods, hill jack, experience driven basket! I will be the first to say that there are lots of granola bars (their flaky) in our Pentecostal/Charismatic/Full Gospel circles, but Im sure there are some flakos in the reformed circles too! Its just my personal observation, but the crowd he preaches too are the deadest, clammy and non-responsive bunch of people Ive seen. They are as dry as last years corn crop. I would NOT want to attend a dirge every Sunday...Ive studied some myself, Im 57, Ive preached about 8,000 times myself, and I will NOT sit idly by and listen to some man put down millions of godly people, who live holy and sacrifice their lives constantly to get the Gospel Message to people. Reformed church history had a place, but its not old enough for me friends... I think Ill go back to ACTS & the NEW TESTAMENT...BB
