I hope everyone had a great and blessed Thanksgiving! I have been blessed to be able to enjoy time my family, despite my wheelchair breaking again and once again leaving me in a very dangerous situation, and stuck in the below freezing temps for over an hour. Luckily for me some great people stayed out with me for moral support and to try fixing my chair. Thank God they got it driving again, but it still wont raise/lower/tilt like it should. So I cant transfer in and out and am confined to bed again :(. This is one of many many dangerous situations that have happened just this year. In the past, there have been incidents that lead to me breaking and one landed me in the hospital. But those ordeals that got me hurt happened rarely. But in the past year-ish I can think of 10 incidents right off the bat and 3 of those since late October that put me in dangerous situations that could have killed or severely hurt me. They caused great amounts of emotional distress and anxiety. Its to the point now where its very hard to get in my chair at all because I never know what will break next and if I will get hurt or worse. I am done letting this happen over and over. So, I would like some advice. What is my best approach making this a legal matter and taking it to court. I am not someone who wants to sue or attack a company for no reason. But there are two companies involved that have lead to these things. Obviously Permobil for substandard parts that are not reliable anymore and for not training the places that distribute their products to do repairs on them. And then there is Home Health Depot, who constantly overlooks issues and parts that need replaced. And also sending it back out together completely wrong and to the point where their repairs actually caused a cord to be severed. I could go on and on with the grievances and am currently working on a complete list of them. But I would love some suggestions on where to start with all of this!
