I hope its ok to do this here ...This is a story about a beautiful blue jay who befriended me and came to my yard for three years in row. We named him Peanut because he loved his peanuts and to be honest I thought the name was good for a girl or boy bird. I dont know how to tell them apart. I knew it was Peanut coming every year because he would come to me when I called his name. I just had to holler Peanut and he would fly right at me. He spent alot of time just hanging out in my yard burying his peanuts under leaves and things and just being the little entertainer that he was. He knew the door I came out of and being an impatient little brat he would peck, peck, peck at it until I opened it. Then he would fly up to the patio table and chortle at me. I must have close to 400 pictures of him. One day in autumn he came with another blue jay. They stayed the day then they were gone. The next spring he never returned. I was so sad. We have other blue jays now that visit. One in particular reminds me of Peanut but he isnt quite as trusting. We like to think it is Peanuts son or daughter. The last photo I posted is the new jay from the other day. I think he looks like his dad. :) (wishful thinking!)
