I hope my friend does not mind that Im sharing this, but its a comment she wrote in response to a video I posted about food allergies and GMOs. Thank you, Joni Harrison, for your insight. Ooh I love this. I did know about the differences between America and Britain and it has made me make different choices here. Since then Ive gone on to get more extreme about what we eat. We arent perfect, especially right now as I just try to survive, but to me its worth spending $7 on a gallon of milk if its going to save us $1,000 later in medical bills. I come from a country where there is socialised medicine so I have trouble seeing it has the great evil that most people here do. I have always considered that the sheer size of this country will make socialized healthcare unworkable. However, I think one of the greatest things we can all do to help the health care system (here or abroad) is to be informed about what we are putting into our bodies. When we read whole grains on our cereal boxes what we should really read is genetically modified corn and avoid it.
