I hope one of these days I can enjoy a relatively care-free existence. However, that seems to be a long time coming considering what Ive sustained. One thing Ive noticed around my house is that almost all of the baseball, football, and wrestling on dvd and music Ive collected is from my childhood years in the 1980s--as if I were subconsciously trying to stay sheltered in a relatively less painful time when I wasnt subjected to as much abuse. Oh, Im glad I dont have to experience it anymore, and that I was somehow strong enough to survive it, but Ill never forget the years I spent where there were some days I would call the suicide hotline 4 or 5 times a day because I was so despondent. Yes, it was THAT terrible. I guess God really does look out for His most vulnerable, doesnt He?
