I hope one or two working-class people are there somewhere, but I - TopicsExpress

I hope one or two working-class people are there somewhere, but I havent met them yet. Neither has Dad. He came to hear me preach the first time, but he hasn’t been back. Unitarian Universalism has a class problem. UU World published these words from Doug Muder seven years ago. We havent solved this problem. It is possible weve failed to make any substantial progress. We talk about the poor and hold food drives and even operate shelters, but why cant we make ourselves attractive to the folks who sweat for a living? Why isnt our message of acceptance and fellowship bringing in the checkers and stockers from the grocery or department stores? How do we get to the point where we include the working class in our culture?
