I hope parents and kids realize that football isnt a terrible sport. Yes, what happened to Calvin Clark is a tragedy and prayers for him and his family should continue... As for the sport of football, I do not think kids and parents should be scared from this incident.. I played tackle football from the age of 7 through my senior year of high school. Yes, injuries did happen. But it wasnt from the way football is played, it was from not playing the sport correctly... Putting my head down, not strapping my helmet tight because it was uncomfortable... Injuries happen in every sport. The worst happen in football when you dont coach kids the correct way to tackle or when you tell kids to lower the head and not the shoulder... Im not saying this is what happened with Calvin and Im not saying that high school coaches are teaching this... All Im saying is DO NOT be afraid to play football and dont be afraid to allow your kids to play football. Yes it is dangerous when not played correctly... But so is baseball, soccer, basketball, wrestling and any other physical sport... Jennings County needs youth football in order to have any success in the middle school and high school level. Dont let one injury stop you or your children from playing a great sport. Jennings county needs youth football
