I hope that my work will help restore a sense of purpose to those who may have lost sight of it. The guest of the day is no longer a guest. Shes Anna Katharine Horne, and shes a new MetMin team member. As Stability Navigator, I asked her to answer the same assessment questions that shell be asking MetMin guests who enter the Stability Navigation Program, a self-determined strategic plan that helps our guests realize the goals they set for themselves. Anna Katharine will accompany them on their chosen paths to long-term stability, and shell hold them accountable for the goals they set for themselves. Here are the questions shes answered - the same questions shell ask MetMins guests. WHAT DO YOU HAVE GOING FOR YOU? I love people and Im eager to serve them in any way I can. My educational background in Community Development - cultural studies, economics, poverty alleviation - gives me the tools to help others learn that the problems they face, as complex as they are, can be addressed step-by-step if they have a plan. I look forward to celebrating each step toward stability with them, no matter how small. WHAT DO YOU NEED? Ill need plenty of patience, prayer, and imagination to help people untangle the barriers that keep them down. I need those of you who also do this kind of work to, well, welcome the opportunity to share candidly the resources that you have to share, or maybe those you no longer have to share. I especially need for the people who enter the Stability Navigation Program to be as committed to reaching their goals as I am! WHAT DO YOU WANT? I want to see peoples dignity restored to them, to see hope light up in their eyes, to see them freed from the shame-filled daily grind of simply scraping by. I want you to partner with me in that! I want to make sure that, as we work together to cover those who need help with the resources they need to achieve stability, that we are working together in a way that also honors your agencys mission and respects your agencys service protocols. HOW CAN I HELP YOU? A big part of the Stability Navigation Program is the development of an insiders community resource directory. The directory format is almost completed, and youll be asked to candidly let all of us in this industry know the best ways that we can, as a community, work together. This is the big/small stuff, like dont call me. Email me. The phone never stops ringing or Weve run out of funding for XYZ program, but check back in a couple months. Lets be efficient and make it easier to work together for the good of the community we share. I want to see the families I serve experience true stability and have real, tangible opportunities to thrive.
