I hope the Filipinos will learn from this but language has always been the least of this countrys citizens concerns. I will go as far as saying that the majority care naught for language. We are a highly adaptable people. Our ancestors learned that and I believe they have somehow managed to incorporate that in our genes. As I see it, our adaptability is more of a negative thing because we often use this trait to belong and to not stand out and which in turn makes us complacent and impassive. What is still important to the majority is food on the table and roof over their heads. As long as this citizenry cannot get top-notch government services re education, employment, and health, any other concern will always be at the bottom.
