I hope this finds you well. As you know, the public comment period for PolyMet ended a couple weeks ago, and what we saw was a record-breaking level of engagement and input. There were nearly 50,000 comments submitted to the MN Dept. of Natural Resources, and with your help, Audubon Minnesota was able to submit 9,600 of those - with 1,000 coming from the Duluth area alone! While weve accomplished a great deal together, theres still a long road ahead to ensure our clean water and public health are protected for generations to come. Additionally, Im sure there are many other environmental and social justice issues out there that you care deeply about. Thats why I hope youll join us this Thursday for a workshop on organizing and advocacy. RSVP here today! Thursday, April 3rd, 6:00 PM Dewitt-Seitz Building, 394 Lake Avenue S., Suite 510 (CoLab) How do you choose the right goals, strategy, and tactics to make change? How do you recruit and train leaders? How you do build strong coalitions with diverse interests? How do you pick the right message and work with the media to tell your story? These are some of the fundamental questions that are at the heart of organizing. This workshop will focus on practical skills that are highly applicable for all campus, community or political organizing, and folks who want to grow their skills and make a difference. There’s no shortage of problems in the world, and the only way we’re going to see the change we need is if people come together in an organized, strategic way to make things happen. That’s exactly why we’ll be having this workshop, so I sincerely hope you can make it. Please RSVP here today! Hope to see you there, Ben -- Ben Cushing Duluth Field Organizer Audubon Minnesota [email protected] 510-821-4725 mn.audubon.org Follow on Facebook & Twitter
