I hope this is ok to post here - I just wanted to let everyone know that a curatorial project I am working on - a performance series titled Talkin Back to Johnny Mac - starts this week with a performance by David Garneau titled Dear John; Louis Riel. Davids piece is a performative intervention into the celebrations for Sir John A. Macdonalds 200th birthday. The performance is on Macdonalds bday, January 11th, in Kingston Ontario at 1230 pm in front of the John A Macdonald statue in City Park (corner of King and West streets). There will also be a panel discussion after (with hot chocolate!) at the Agnes Etherington Art Gallery from 3-5pm. David is also speaking at an event with the author of Clearing the Plains James Daschuk on January 10th from 6-8pm at the St. Andrews Hall. I will post a poster for my event and a link for the talk.
