I hope this is okay to share here. Just sharing why I ended up living here after visiting here for 20 years.. and I know how some dont view transplants so fondly... In many places. Never had that experience here just putting it out there to know we respect that some of you were born and lived here your whole life Well today was my partners dads 88th Birthday . And as you can see he is so happy... to have it here in a place he loves and has loved for the past 50 years or more. Him and his wife Betty came here and spent the winter months for the past 50 years or more.. they were married 63 years. She died this past December and he decided he wanted to live the rest of his life by the sea not just any place .. but here Folly Beach. They actually owned two lots ocean front by the lighthouse and sold them in the 70s for like $26,000 for both to put their sons through college. So anyway in February when we brought him here to spread some of her ashes.. he said he wanted to live the rest of his life here. so I left my home.. moved in with them and quit my job and here we are renting in Marsh Winds for the year. Now our dream is to have him ocean or river front next April Thanks for welcoming me here and not minding all my posts and we pack his lunch and he is on the pier or at the park daily as Jef takes him there for lunch to see the ocean. Say hello if you see them... we all love people and life and are so grateful to be here...
