I hope this post does not violate the intentions of the groups purpose but I am in desparate need of your help to save one of the greatest pieces of history in Alabama. Many of you may know of the significant history of the Mooresville church of Christ and that its building is the oldest in the Alabama still on its same foundation and same structure. The church had stopped meeting in the building some years ago, and I have been attempting to lead a group of brothers and sisters in an effort to maintain and restore the building to its original 1854 decor. We have been able to do some things to help get it to a safe state of repair but recently we had some major issues with electrical and plumbing. I am asking for your help to preserve this building with any donation you might want to contribute to the Mooresville church of Christ. Our goal is to restore it as a place for all church members to see history, have history lectures and events as well as have worship in it once again. This is the place where James Garfield held a meeting while he was General of the Union Army in a Confederate south. It is rich in history and a worthy cause for Christians to consider.
