I hope this tip will help the next smartphone user that is looking for the best value when using a free upgrade on their account. I dont know if this is true for all cellphone companies, but its true for Sprint. I went into their retail store in Sunset Hills. I waited patiently for 15-20 minutes before someone helped me. I told her I was eligible for a free upgrade on my account and was looking for which ever phone(s) would be $0 using the upgrade. She was annoyed immediately (since I wouldnt be spending hundreds of dollars), and informed me I could only get the iPhone 4s (which is only 3G capable). I asked about Androids and she told me they would cost at least $150 with the upgrade. I decided to leave and do more research. Called Sprint Customer Service. A rep told I can go to Best Buy and get the Galaxy s4 for $1 in any color, or several other phones for free. He also told me I can order one from Amazon for 1 penny. And I called Radio Shack and found I can get the Galaxy s4 for FREE or the iPhone 5c for FREE. Ill probably never bother going into a Sprint store again. This may also apply for Verizon, AT&T, etc, but not sure. Just do your homework so you dont get conned into spending hundreds of dollars when you could get the same product for nothing.
