I hope to see everyone at 1pm at the Waterfront Park - entrance at 43rd & 1st. We cannot congregate in groups larger than 20 - otherwise we need a permit, but we can all pose for a quick picture before going in and we can mingle and swap stories. I would love to share with you the history of the waterfront - the very spot where we will be standing. And tell you about Steins beach - Thursdays Women Only! And the story of the Ghost of Kent Mansion (58th St) and the story of Irving T. Bush used his daddys money to create an empire, and the story of the decline of the waterfront and why. And the stories of the families that camped here in the 70s and lived off the fish from the bay. Or the many cold mornings of bird watching here to prove to the City that the water was getting healthy (the more birds meant they were finding more fish to eat, the more fish meant that the water was cleaner...we couldnt count fish, but we could count birds... And the stories of being chased off the waterfront...so many stories to share. see you later.
