I hope you all had a great time over the holidays; and now its time to start the new year on the dance floor if youve taken a break. Besides being fun, its the best way to get back in shape if you had too many cookies or egg nog ! All levels of Lindy, including Beginning Lindy 1, start this coming week at the Artscenter in Carrboro, on Tuesday, January 6. All levels of East Coast Swing begin, at the Artscenter in Carrborro on Wednesday, January 7. Starting Thursday, January 8, Lindy Charleston(basic tandem, front and side Charleston required), and Intermediate/Advanced Lindy, and Beginning East Coast Swing start at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (ERUUF) in Durham. Beginning LIndy 1 at 6:15 at the Artscenter in Carrboro on Tuesdays January 6-27. This is the fun original swing dance from Harlem! Unlike Beginning East Coast Swing which starts up every month, I usually have absolute beginning LIndy only twice a year, once in January and again in September, because Lindy is more intricate. I will have progressive levels of beginning Lindy throughout the Spring. This will be followed by Intermediate Lindy at 7:15PM which will continue the focus on musicality along with new material, and Advanced Lindy at 8:15 PM. On Wednesdays at the Artscenter in Carrboro, January 7-28, will be Beginning East Coast Swing at 6:15; followed by the Intermediate East Coast class(the month that begins with Blues!) at 7:15. At 8:15 will be Advanced East Coast Swing. On Thursdays, at ERUUF in Durham, January 8-29, I will be teaching Lindy Charleston(as opposed to 20s style Charleston) at 6:30 PM, followed by Intermediate/Advanced Lindy at 7:30 PM, and Beginning East Coast at 8:30. The next TSDS dance will be The Low Down Sires , at the Murphey School Durham, this Saturday, January 3. Then we have the Atomic Rhythm All-Stars at the Century Center in Carrboro on January 17. See triangleswingdance.org ;for details! Every Friday is: Dance Blues Friday lesson and dance at Triangle Dance Studio in Durham.
