I hope you are having a great start to your New Year. It’s a time of massive goal setting and directed action. New big plans of radiant health, manifesting quality relationships, and prosperity are poured emotionally over journal pages across the globe these few weeks. All these ideas can be high pressure, high intensity, and a whole lot of stress. It can be a little crash and burn, ya know? I kind of secretly choose ease out proclaiming dramatic plans in these few weeks and design my time steadily working toward what I value and how I want to feel consistently. When I slide off, I practice noticing I’ve slid, and just like meditation, guide my attention back inward. The practice is important. The goals, you’ll blow past. Don’t worry about them. When you get really good at whatever your practicing, you’ll begin to enjoy the process a whole lot more than worrying about a goal. Go ahead and have your goals, but don’t get too stuck there. Practice how you want to feel. You probably want to feel fantastic right? Here are some simple tips that work for me that I’d love to share with you. Blow Past Your Goals 1. Take it Easy. Can’t touch your toes? Bend your knees. Most always there is an easy way to solve a problem. The most perfect answer is often the most simple. Take it easy on your self. Take it easy on your mind. Take it easy on your body. Take care of you so you can nurture yourself. 2. Take an Interest. Amazing beauty, inspiration, and opportunity is all around. Talk to people. Ask questions. Get interested in a lot of things. Drop your agenda when you have a conversation and open up to people about what they are up to. You’ll be inspired. 3. Stay Present. Back off of what you want right now, soften your body, relax your mind, and allow yourself to be present. Now is pretty great and when you get “there” it will be now again. 4. Keep it Regular. Practice paying attention when you drift off of your routine. Guide yourself back. Create structure you can thrive in. 5. Change If It’s Not Fun. Committed to a year of running but decide you really don’t like running a week in and love doing Strala on-line? (couldn’t help myself) Whatever it is, if you decide you want to shift, allow yourself to shift and change. A refresh is energizing. I’d love to hear your tips in the comments!
