I hope you do not mind me posting this in here, but this story is for HAS. We have been talking about open adoptions, so I want to share my story, as proof that it does work. In August 2004, I came to your shelter looking for my cat, named Ace, he was black as the Ace of spades . In one of your cages, was a black cat, looking just like mine. I asked if they could hold onto him longer, and with a stern voice, the worker said no, he is going down tomorrow. I asked if I could hold him, and she said yes. When I held him he rubbed his head around mine and my neck. I just burst into tears. After being told what was going to happen to him, I said he was my cat, and I paid $70 for a cat that wasnt mine. His name was Lucifer and he is the cat on my timeline. He turned diabetic, and we treated him. He lived another ten years and was my lap cat . I love him miss him everyday. He passed away on 29 Dec. last year in my arms. Please doing what I did, helped him to live, please get HAS to use open adoptions.
