I hope youll take a moment to read this excellent Bloomberg Businessweek cover story on #paidleave. Its absolutely outrageous that a nation as wealthy as ours remains the only industrialized country in the world not to provide paid leave for its workers. In fact, only 12% of U.S. workers even have access to paid leave through their employers. We can and must do better. While President Obamas proposed policies to offer some paid leave and paid sick days are a good step, we must continue to fight to pass the #FAMILYAct. This important legislation will create a national paid leave program for every U.S. worker for less than the cost of a cup of coffee per week. As Businessweek puts it: The FAMILY Act would drastically change the lives of many American workers. Its time for the United States to #leadonleave.
