I imagine how difficult it was for her to listen to all the stories that are reflected in her books, especially in The Angel of Grozny - the stories of violence, hatred, struggle, immense pain, personal loss. I cant imagine any other effective way in which she could cover the war scenes that she has visited. After receiving such an in-depth, comprehensive and thought provoking information about the extent in which the war affected Chechnya, how it changed the lives of ordinary people, especially children and how this tragedy still determines their fate, i do agree with her argument that Journalists at war definitely need literature to fully retell the stories. Only in this way people can fully understand and feel the scale of loss and pain the war brings to ordinary people. Looking forward to reading her third book With Their Backs to the World: Portraits from Serbia.
