I imagined myself sitting at the desk of a humid newsroom typing a shitty article, sweating, with my hair greasy and slicked straight back. I’d wear a plaid long-sleeved shirt and wave flies away from my face while typing. I’d have a toothpick in my mouth at all times while working. I’d take up drinking coffee all day too. My teeth would be stained yellow-brown and I’d always be sneering. I already have a big rat nose. I’d wear cheap cologne and write incendiary “news” articles using the first-person, denouncing public figures and calling for extreme measures in response to various social and political problems. It would be amazing.
