I joined Facebook and started the Arms for Asher page to raise awareness about SMA and share our story. There is a lot that goes on in our world of SMA but it is only a part of our world. Asher has two healthy older sisters, we have a marriage and a community of friends and family that we try to keep up with. Its not easy and most days I realize it is difficult to balance normal and SMA. Today is a day that I would like to switch the focus from Asher (sort of) and place it on two amazing people in my life. 6 years ago today the most amazing little girl came into my life and made me a mother. Leyna Alexis Camp! Leyna is one of the most compassionate little girls I have known. She never ceases to amaze me with how much she loves her family and how much she tries to help each one of us. She is the BEST big sister in so many ways. She wheels Asher in the right direction when he is leading astray. She tells mom and dad when little sis is getting into trouble. And she keeps our marriage straight when mom and dad arent speaking nicely to one another. She is smart and funny and a pleasure to bake cookies with. Happy Birthday Leyna! 36 years ago today a special little boy was born. This little boy became a man and the love of my life and the best daddy my three crazy kids could have. His endless efforts to keep our household running never go unnoticed...managing Ashers care, homeschooling Leyna, keeping bellies full and tempers at bay. Not to mention, loving his wife with all the affirmation and sincerity a girl could ask for. Happy Birthday Jeremy! Today is the day two amazing people were born and Im lucky enough that they made my heart and my life full. Happy birthday my loves!
