I just arrived from Scotland after delivering some lectures in Edinburgh and Sterling. I spoke at the Hope Conference on the remarkable nature of the Quran and at the Sterling Islamic Centre on purifying our hearts. Edinburghs Deputy Lord Provost Deidre Brock (which means the deputy head of Edinburgh Council) also delivered a short speech at the conference and during her speech she quoted the following parts of my talk: Dont hate, debate. Dont curse, converse. This shows how tolerance, dialogue and discussion are universal values. We must start engaging positively in order to create a tolerant and cohesive society. Dont hide your values and your religion, people want to learn and engage in dialogue. Youll be surprised how much positivity will come from it.
