I just bought tickets to see this show at Shank Hall on March 6. You may not know who Midge Ure is, but I assure you that you know his work, especially if youre in your 40s or 50s: Front man for 2 influential synthpop groups from the 1980s (Ultravox and Visage), and he performed with Thin Lizzy for several years. Ure co-wrote and produced the charity single Do They Know Its Christmas? He co-organized Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof. On this tour, which Ure calls The Fragile Troubadour, he will appear on stage with nothing but a mic and an acoustic guitar, and will share unplugged versions of some of his most famous songs from his days in Ultravox, Visage and his solo work.
