I just came across this wonderful new book for children. It is a French language book with a Wolof translation. And the illustrations are superb. It is called La Fille Du Pharaon Noir (The Daughter of the Black Pharaoh). The Wolof title is Doomi Firawna Bu Nuul Bi. The author is Mame Fatou Diagne and the illustrator is Svetlana Amegankpoe. There was a Bibliotheque Lecture Developpement Edition in 2010. It is the sort of work that should also be in English, Spanish, French, Dutch and as many African languages as possible. It is a wonderful book! It is only 18 pages and I think that it would be perfect for our children. I could really promote it. It is just great!
