I just committed to this in my Eppic Results Wellness Group: 10 DAY SOCIAL MEDIA CLEANSE! I dont know if you are anything like me, but this is necessary in my life to maintain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. I have one main reason for this cleanse.... and my reason for doing THIS cleanse is very similar to the reasons I do a gut cleanse every 60-90 days. IM FAT AND SLUGGISH! Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I have stuff in my brain, heart, and memory that doesnt belong there....its just mental fat. Yuck! While physical fat might lead to heart related diseases, this type of fat can also lead to major heart issues. Such heart issues include- but are not limited to: negativity, comparison, wasted time, worry, anxiety, depression, lack of sleep, false sense of reality, and so much more. Now, having said all this, there ARE some very positive aspects of using social media. In fact, THIS group is one of the positive aspects about my day. I LOVE getting encouragement and updates on your success. I also love to help coach you through change in this group. This place is awesome and worth checking in to regularly. So, heres my mental diet 10 day social media cleanse rules: 1. Cut out the bad food (no FB scrolling). Things I accidentally and/or intentionally see get stored in my brain. My mind spends energy working on it and I need my mind to be clear for other things. No mindless feed scrolling. None. 2. Dont eat just cuz youre bored (only check in to FB 2 times per day for intentional use). I will be opening my FB account twice per day for a VERY limited time to answer questions, post pictures of my fam, comment, and lead in my specific groups. Ill do this at 11:45am cst and again after my kids go to bed at 9pm cst. I will be limiting my time to 15-30 minutes. Trust me....this is very limited for me. 3. Feed yourself food rich in nutrition (if I must open an app, Ill open the bible app). God is waiting to spend time with me. My kids are dying to spend intentional time with me. My husband will take all the time he can get with me. THATS what matters. If I must check out for a moment and scroll through my phone...it will be the bible app. 4. Work out (exercise the brain and build relationships). Ill read stuff that provides direction and challenges me. Also, it might make me sweat a little, but I need to work hard to build stronger relationships in my life. This will be done by time spent and phone calls. I dont know your situation, but if this sounds like something you might need in your life, join me. Well create a fb group to keep each other accountable. JUST KIDDING! Lol Wish me luck on my SM cleanse! (Although I wont see the notifications until later because they are all turned off!)
