I just dont understand people who dont believe in evolution. Im not opposed to faith or religion, far from it; but I am suggesting that the two are not mutually exclusive. I appreciate that many of our popular theological doctrines no longer take the biblical texts literally, and for which I am grateful. It would be absurdly naive of anyone to think that the world was literally only 6,000 years old, with a fixed number of creatures of purpose, without change, created in the space of 7 days. But for the few that refuse to come to terms with evolution, I struggle with your conclusion. Blind irrational cults may feed our sense of belonging, and may sooth our guilt, but they are a dangerous commodity feeding on the fears of those within them. My grandmother used to tell me never under estimate the power of denial. How wise indeed.
