I just dropped my kids off at school. And then I screamed at the top of my longs in the privacy of my own dirty minivan. Not a happy scream. A frustrated WHY DO MY KIDS FIGHT SO MUCH ABOUT ALL THINGS?! Scream. It started with little annoyances at breakfast. The breakfast I got up early to make - bacon, eggs (hardboiled and over easy), bagels, fruit. Because its Monday and I wanted to start the week off strong. But instead of grateful children who are thankful for a hearty breakfast I got grumpy bugs. And in ugly tones, Stop chewing with your mouth open. Stop looking at me. And an hard boiled egg in Jordiss hair - not from a sibling, just from her six-year-old-cannot-sit-straight-and-cannot-eat like-a-human eating skills. Then to the car where the real fighting begins. ABOUT SEATING ARRANGEMENTS. Lydia sits in the second row where Elijah was waiting to go. A fight ensues. She doesnt move because he didnt ask her nice enough. And I had already asked her to move. He asks her three times and escalates in meanness, of course. She doesnt move. So he shoves her off the chair. I am in the house grabbing the keys. I can hear the screams from in the house. We have loosely done assigned seating in the car because of this. NOW I AM GOING TO ASSIGN SEATS WITH SHARPIES OR TATTOOS OR SOMETHING. I am so sick of the unappreciative-ness and fighting. The good news is, that none of my kids woke up in the middle of the night to eat or leak out a diaper or have a bad dream, like some of your littles did. So I basically got a decent nights sleep. So thats helpful. Because I am a level 2 mom. But UGGGHHHHH! I have not decided the consequences to their behavior this morning, but it might involve a visit to the juvenile hall. Because thats where fighting leads, people. Also, I hear they have a great babysitting program there. Thanks for listening. You are my therapy.
