I just finished another redo project I would like to share. I bought a headboard mirror for a dresser for $5 from Goodwill and then extra supplies that I needed. 1. Tape off the mirror on the inside with blue painters tape- it releases better from the mirror when you are done. 2. Have all of your supplies ready at hand to use. I needed paper that I used to shred and decoupage on with the glue- mod lodge, scissors, sponge paint brush, disposable plate for the glue (so it can be thrown away) and cut pieces of 3/4 in molding cut to my desired lengths. 3. Tear up the pieces of paper and apply glue to the frame of the mirror and then put the pieces of paper over the glue and with your brush glue over the top side of the paper. Do this to the entire frame and cross sections. (Or any other project you may want to decoupage) 4. Carefully take off the tape from the mirror using a blade to score the edge that is up against the frame. Clean the mirror thoroughly. 5. Measure out how you want the cross beams to be on the mirror and use Loctite G02 Glue to glue these pieces to the mirror. The glue does dry clear. I put a few weights (cans) on top of the crossbeams and I let this dry horizontally for several hours before I put the hooks on the back to hang it vertically. I did put 2 large hooks on either side on the back with the 100lb. weight steel cording for pictures. I bought those from Home Depot along with the G02 glue. 5. I did turn the mirror upside down so that I could drill 3 holes in the bottom (what used to be the top) and added 3 knobs I already had and some keys tied to a lace ribbon. 6. I hung this in my bathroom to enjoy. Make sure with something so heavy that you are in a stud in the wall when you hang it. Maybe you can do a project that will also be just as easy and enjoyable!
