I just finished reading the latest issue of American Iron Magazine. I want to thank Cris Sommer Simmons for her column. As a US NAVY veteran I served on both submarines and surface ships. The USS Prairie (AD-15) was a Destroyer Tender built just before WWII. By the 1980s we were a mixed crew of both men and women sailors. I am grateful to see the recognition for my female shipmates. Most folks are unaware the role and risks that our service women have given to our Country since before our Country was founded. On behave of my shipmates and myself, thank you for Cris and all involved in HERProdjects. And in keeping with NAVY Tradition, Bravo ZULU Cris!
