I just finished talking to Uncle Mike. We talked about an hour. His voice goes in and out so really have to listen to understand him. He is amazing! I told him he reminded me of how holy Pope John Paul was in enduring his suffering at the end of his life. Uncle Mike is looking for the daily blessings that we take for granted and overlook. He is relying solely on God to get him through this. He is working on understanding and seeing Gods purpose in all of this, which is normal. I was blessed just by talking to him. He is truly an example of Jesus on earth. The cleanings are down to one a day now. They are horrible and he gets through them imagining holding Jesus hand. Great news is they were thinking they needed to do another graft on his right arm, but as of now they decided he doesnt need it. Praise our almighty God! We did talk about receiving communion daily, since as of now he gets it once in awhile. Someone walked in while we were talking to give him communion, so we had to end our conversation. We also talked about the sacrament of anointing of the sick. He is going to talk to the chaplain today and decide if he needs it. He is struggling with accepting all the help he offers to others when sick. Pray that he learns the lesson God wants and he sees himself as deserving as the people he cares for. It is hard to be on the receiving end when you are use to giving. He did say they are looking into having him home by the weekend with home care. Pray that he isnt moved to early and that he has the courage and strength to endure the transition of going from a safe environment where he is taken care of to one of uncertainty. Pray for the right nurses to be assigned to his care and continue to pray for all who are currently caring for him. Blessings Jule Lane
