I just finished watching Good Morning Vietnam with Lisa Rzepka and Dylan Anthony Rzepka, and I realized that I have something to say about what happened to the man who helped teach me such lessons as the importance of what kind of person you are on the inside regardless of your economic standing (in Alladin), the importance of environmental conservation (Fern Gully), the importance of taking the time to seize the day (Dead Poets Society), the fact that there is nothing more important than family even in difficult situations (Mrs. Doubtfire), and most of all how important it is to have happy thoughts on reserve because you never know when you might need one to soar above the mire (Hook). I will miss Robin Williams because of how much his work touched my childhood, and Im very sorry that his family has to deal with the aftermath of his illness. When a friend died in a similar fashion, his mother told me, if my son had died of cancer, people would say he succumbed to his disease. My son had an imbalance in his brain, that was his disease, and he succumbed to it. Just like cancer is an imbalance of malignant cells and the flu is an imbalance of virus cells in the body, depression is an imbalance of certain hormones in the brain. I am truly saddened that Robin Williams disease claimed his life. Rest in peace, I captain my captain.
