I just found out that dear childhood friends from Littlefield and my family are related. We lived just across the alley from each other, always were playing together (mid to late 1950s).......and through FB keep in touch even today. I knew that her surname was the same as my great great grandmothers maiden name......so I finally did a search. I was amazed that it only took a few minutes to find we have an ancestor in common!!.......and that our ancestors seemed to belong to the same social circle as well as intermarrying. This goes back to the late 1700s all the way to the Civil War in North and South Carolina (when both families came to Texas...but located in different counties. Its amazing that our families didnt even share the same landmarks.........my grandmother had lived near Sweetwater.......her grandparents had come from Williamson County, TX.....I dont even know where that is!! How amazing is this??!!
