I just got a letter from the union. Let me tell all you taxpayers that next time you want to go all I pay your salary on me, or us, you had better check your facts. You pay roughly ONE-THIRD of my salary. Im supposed to justify my position as a valuable member of society by listing the volunteer and civic minded things I do and organizations I belong to so the public can see me as more than just a county worker. IS THIS A JOKE?? By the time I put in my 40 hours plus the x number of hours of overtime, mandated or other, *AND*work a second job so I can afford the cost of living for my family, there is no time for me to give to anyone besides my family. I AM A MOM, A WIFE, A 911 DISPATCHER, A PARAMEDIC, AND A TAXPAYER.... if all I am to you is just a county worker then thats your loss.
