I just got back from the funeral home & making just about all of the final arrangements. We laughed a little as well, to pay for everything we put the expenses on my credit card... my Disney Visa Signature Platinum credit card by Chase (with the picture of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy & Pluto on it). The laugh really came from my mom & I when we joked to the funeral director that my fathers last gift to me would be the Disney Reward Dollars earned from the credit card charge and that my father was going to pay for either a Disneyland souvenir or more likely my Disney Vacation Club dues for 2015. Yes, I know its a little dark humor but indulge us a bit. We did the same in 2004 with my grandmothers funeral. My dad liked my Disney vacations. I just wish I couldve convinced him to go on more with me. On a more serious note, my mom & I were offered to see my dad at the funeral home but we both respectfully declined. We saw him laying in bed at St. Lukes Hospital and we said our goodbyes there. My dad looked very peaceful and at rest, literally like he had been sleeping in my recliner chair in my living room. We didnt want to see him in this new context but remember him, at worst, as we saw him last night and at best when he was alive & well.
