I just got off the phone with Nathan Mayo, Parks Superintendent, and he is having a meeting Monday morning with the staff and maintenance crew for the POW/MIA park. He will be addressing first of all the major over-watering issue and will be actively working to get that resolved as soon as possible. Secondly, he will be seeking a solution to the trash issue at the park and is talking about getting more trash cans to help control the garbage problem. Now if we could only make people actually THROW trash in the trash can! He is also looking into updating some of the park tables and playground equipment. Mr. Mayo oversees the construction issues as well as city maintenance, so unfortunately, he is over-extended and trying to balance all that and take care of the park here. I am thankful that he is quick to respond to complaints and is trying to fix issues that arise there at the park. Hopefully we will see some changes with the park watering and the over-full garbage cans very soon!
