I just got sick from eating a can of tuna. You see, the expiration date said december 10, but I didnt realize until after I ate it that it was december 10, 2013. that one little number at the end made a world of difference. the moral of the story? dont take sides on a bill that you have not fully read every single letter and and number and understood completely. To this day, supporters of obamacare, the patriot act, the tax code, asset forfeiture laws and many more, have not fully read the contents of the laws they enjoy imposing on others. To many of these people, it doesnt hurt until the government turns their back on them and gives them a taste of their own medicine. I cant blame them for not reading it - the bills are all written in a language foreign to most and rival encyclopedia britannica in length. But I can blame them for taking unwavering support of legislation that has the ability to drastically affect the life of someone else without even knowing exactly - to every letter of the bill - they are supporting. .... and no - I didnt actually eat a year old can of tuna - that was just there for dramatic effect - I hope it got your attention :)
