I just got some of the worst news of my life today. My best friend of the past 5 years died on Tuesday. Since Im so far away, my family waited to tell me this news today so it wouldnt ruin my work week. R.I.P. Shadow Puppet. You were the one that pulled me through some of the worst times of my life. You helped the pain go away my senior year when my dad went to jail and he wasnt there. You were there through multiple break ups. You reminded me how strong I could be when I was dealing with my addiction, you made me realize how important life was when I was going through withdrawals and nobody understood but you. You would lay there for hours with me while I dealt with what I was trying to cope with. You made me feel wanted and secure when I couldnt look to anyone else because they wouldnt understand. You let me remember how I saved your life and that you were put into mine to save me. You were my ride or die in the truck and were always down to go to the store. (McDonalds was are favorite place to go... Man how you loved those French fries.) You were one of the BEST gator fans ever, always barking along while we sang the chants. Not to mention, a great babysitter because of how gentle you were with children. I loved talking to you when my mom would put the phone on speaker and ask you, do you want to talk to mommy? You would get so excited and bark and whine, Its like you were really talking. Also when I came home to visit, you were always waiting for me. Best coming home present ever! Im sorry that I didnt take you with me when I moved out, puppet. I hope you are in puppy heaven having a grand ole time. I will always miss you. Please remember that I love you with all my heart.
