I just got this email from a cop. Im getting more and more of these. I am going to email him your comments so if you want to say something to this officer, feel free. Im sure he would enjoy hearing your thoughts. Here is what he wrote: My name is (redacted). I am a Deputy Sheriff/academy instructor in Texas. Like you, I have spent 8 years in law enforcement and I have won national awards for my work as a DWI and highway interdiction officer. Now, I am at a moral crossroads in my career. I have become a closet activist for the legalization of marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes and the general relaxation of drug laws nationally. I cannot stand what we as law enforcement officers are sworn to do any longer. I realize a necessity for certain aspects of law enforcement but feel the vast majority is corrupt and as crooked as snakes. I dont want to be a part of that any longer! I dont know how to get out of it. I have no skills, no trade and no degree. I have spent my entire professional life doing this and I feel trapped. I know that you are a very busy man but I hope to hear from you. You have become a hero to me and your courage to stand up in the face of the blatant violations of our citizens freedoms is inspiring. Keep up the good fight and any advice you can send my way is greatly appreciated!
