I just got this email from a friend -- apparently Stuart Watson of WCNC is fired. Could it be the toll reporting? The Charlotte Observer reports that Stuart Watson has been fired after 16 years of investigative reporting. As most of you know he has been a big help in keeping a balanced discussion between citizens and special interest efforts to toll I77. My concern is that Mr. Watson is another victim (Israel Balderas being the first) of payback and political interference with free speech/press. Attacks on the free press aren’t always done with a gun. If anyone knows Stuart well enough to ask the question….Were you a victim of political pressure and influence?
