I just got word that one of my dearest friends and one of the most important people in my life had just passed away. He fought a battle unlike anyone I have ever known. Richard Smith was the backbone of my elevator experience. Without him, I would have never learned the comprehensive work ethic involving the elevator inspection business that millions of New Yorkers depends on! He worked for Mcglynn Hays Elevator as one of the most qualified troubleshooters I have ever know in my 34 years in the elevator business. After learning of his passing, I had to pull over, downtown Bklyn., and thank my Heavenly Father for giving me all the wonderful years I had with him.
