I just had a stranger come into my house. My backyard is - TopicsExpress

I just had a stranger come into my house. My backyard is totally open to the street, and when its hot outside, I often leave the back door open with just the screen closed. About 20 minutes ago, I was sitting here at the computer with the window wide open, and I heard noises outside my house. And Ringo and Micky both ran to the window to look out. I turned off the light so I could see better and looked out, but I didnt see anything. And then I heard a noise in my kitchen. Moonie was out there, and the cats make noises all the time, so I didnt think too much of it. But I did go to check it out, because of the other noises Id heard. And there was a man heading for my guest bedroom. I said What the hell??? and he turned, and collapsed into a chair in my dining room. He mumbled something about someone beating him up, and he did look wounded. He was dazed and his eyes were red. I didnt want to turn away someone who is hurt, but I cant deal with people just walking into my house. He DID close the door behind him, which you dont do if you break into a house to do something bad. Omigod, I just looked out the window and theres two cop cars and an ambulance out there. I think theyre taking him away. Anyway.... I told him he couldnt stay in my house and walked him to the door. He didnt give me any trouble. I locked all the doors and windows and called 911. They said theyd said an officer out to investigate. I waited five more minutes, watching out the front door to see if he left. A couple times, I thought I heard noises out back. Then I heard him trying to get back in my back door. I called 911 again, and told them he was still out there. Then I saw a flashlight in my front yard. It was the police. I hung up, and opened the door and told them he was still in my backyard. Then I could hear them out there asking him questions. They knocked on my front door a few minutes later and asked me what he had said to me. They said he was drunk and confused and thought that he lived here. Aaargh. I thanked them for coming so quickly, and thought that was the end of it. But then there was the ambulance... I think its gone now but there are still some police cars out front. This is creepy.
