I just had an aha moment. In a thread where people were morning the loss of teaching cursive, I pretty much told cursive not to let the door bang it in the butt on its way out. I was called unromantic. I replied that I am a romantic - just of the future not the past. That set me to thinking. I applied that nugget to people I know, to world leaders, to societies... I think there is a basic difference among people I had not given much thought to before. There are people who romanticize the past and try to cling to it, and there are people who romanticize the future and leap head first towards it. I much prefer the later way of thinking. I am sure many of you already knew this, but I just gave it thought for the first time and I find it very interesting when applied to the fracturing in politics. I think we are on the cusp of a giant leap forward. Why else would so many be clinging to the comfort of the past? Color me excited.
