I just had one of the busiest and most fun weekends this whole year. I am celebrating being in Portland for exactly one year, as of August 2. I went to another Pagan gathering at my friends UU congregation in Orenco, between Beaver and Hillsboro. It was fun. They had a massive potluck. It was very open and accepting, in fact, full on Celibratory. This is the place I share a garden with my friend. Then I sped back to town on the MAX, and had a party at my apartment complex. Oh, I ate too much, because then I went with another friend to the 2014 Pride Glow Run. We were all decked out, flashing LED lights, glow sticks for necklaces and bracelets, and I rocked my petticoat. We not lost, so we missed the start, but we hooked up wish another cute group of tu-tud folks. We called ourselves Team Sparkle. And that we did. No one was cuter than us. We did the 5k, mostly walking the esplanade, waterfront and bridges. It was so beautiful. So today, my friend picked me up, with her brother, and another friend, and we all went to Sauvee Island, in the Columbia River. We did a short 3 mile hike, since I was overruled for the longer one. It was beautiful. We blew grass, popped leaves, had a snowball fight, tickled each other with long grass stems, ate tons of wild blackberries, and talked a lot. What could be better than that? Well, we added to that fun wish a jaunt to the sandy beach. Yes, a hot sandy beach, right in Portland! We ate lunch and went swimming. Very warm water. It was in the 90s again. We even sunbathed for about an hour. Ive never done that before. Then....what what? There is a Paul Bunyan statue in Portland? No way? Yes way. Not only Eureka, California, and Bemidji, Minnesota, have one, but so does Portland. All over town people yell out my name. Hey Leah. What an awesome feeling. What an awesome day. I really love my friends. I really love my life. :) ;)
