I just had the most wonderful phone conversation with my ex father - TopicsExpress

I just had the most wonderful phone conversation with my ex father in law Neil, such a lovely man with a huge heart. He has never treated me any different from the day I met him, neither has Mary, Mikes mum. It was so good to be able to talk with them. I do miss them all very much and sadly cannot be up in Hamilton for the funeral dueto my finances . To be able to talk for so long with Neil has helped me with my grief through this time. Sadly the dynamic of divorce impacts so many and so many we lose contact with, whom we love who are family. As many of you know it was one hell of a journey for me, this marriage break up and divorce. Its sad that its taken this long and a death for me to be able to have a connection with Mikes parents again, but having known me you all know the impact it had on me and the grief I have gone through over the last few years dealing with the loss of my husband and our close family unit all together. It did take its toll. Happily I have come out the end of the divorce stuff and as much as I still love my sons father and always will as a family member and someone I share some precious memories with, I have moved on and look forward to one day in the not too distant future lol, having a new love in my life and new adventures. I am so blessed with the family and extended family I have. If I had been able to financially be at the funeral I would have gone, I have no problem now being in the presence of my ex and his family. Just had to do a lot of work on myself to get there. They have always treated me with the utmost kindness and love. I was the one who felt more comfortable stepping back to let Mike have a new life and be with his family up North. Thank you Neil for the wonderful chat and all my love to you and Mary as parents who have lost a dear a wonderful son
